Upcoming Minicomic
September 18th, 2011 § Leave a Comment
Sooo… Long ago, Young Prince Hatfield made his appearance on this blog, and since then, his life has become a minicomic that is just a few short pages, some touch-ups, and a placed order away from being born into this world! This is the proposed cover for it. It’ll only be about 20 pages long or thereabouts, but I am excited to print my own comic for the first time. I’ll talk more about it I guess once I actually go through the printing process, and maybe I’ll make some available for sale online!

Alright, some crazy new pictures should be coming up soon, aside from this nonsense. I’m excited! And busy… Anyways, this was a class exercise where each person did a different type of panel, and as you can see, some people got a little confused here. I mean, really. He’s kidnapped by sky pirates, in THEIR boat, not his, but clearly someone got confused along the way…
Anyways, I did the first panel, and I am so happy to see Captain Rainbows turned out to be as wonderful as this. I was hoping either a big buff amazing guy, or a lady, but knowing that it could go a number of ways, so I was really pleased to see that it went this way. I love this Captain Rainbows, so thanks to Jesse Moriarty (don’t know if I spelled the last name right)! This is what CSI Miami should really be about.
Thanks, everyone in my Introduction to Sequential Art class! I don’t care what anyone says, Brian Ralph is a super cool guy.

Sooo, Josh informed me that he had seen my art on the Adventure Time tumblr! I had submitted back in December, but figured that they rejected it or something, since I saw my friend Jocelyn’s picture on there, but not mine not long after. However, apparently, they were just taking their sweet time, because it’s up there now! *so proud*
This means I’ll have to submit more…
Stephen’s Plan and Collecting Names
December 22nd, 2010 § Leave a Comment
Stephen gives great advice.
I’ve been writing down all the great names I hear from the ’50s and ’60s and all. My dad’s friends when he was in elementary school have names like Dolore and Christie (a boy, short for Christian) and Denny. I want more great names like this, preferably first and last. Susie Stout and Denny Riley are just not names I hear a lot, and I’d love to use them for a story or something.
Spirit Pokemon

Edit: I finally got to a good scanner, so here’s the proper version of the comic! If you liked the old one better for some reason, let me know. You can see it on knowyourmeme.com!
Also, my friend, Orlando, posted one as well! So amazing. Mine cannot compare: http://odditystew.blogspot.com/2010/12/spirit-pokemon.html

Halloween Treat! Comic Finished!

So, I’ve been looking for somewhere to put my comic in the readable format, with “back” and “next” buttons and everything, but I hadn’t gotten anything down yet… until I realized that I could just put them all in their own gallery on my portfolio website! So, until I actually have a proper website set up and everything, you can now read the entire comic, “Live With,” right here:
http://lucykagan.daportfolio.com/
You can blow up all of the pictures by clicking on them, and you can just continue to click the left and right arrows without even making it smaller again.
The pages from before will still be available here for another week, but after that, I’ll just have a link to my portfolio, since that’s the easiest place to read them right now.
Have a Hatfield Halloween! (Look to my “Some Guys I Know” picture as well as some older posts to find this hilarious young man)
Temporary Tattoos and More!
October 25th, 2010 § Leave a Comment
So, a while back, I mentioned how I went to AVS. I have yet to properly describe this experience in all its awesomeness to people who would most appreciate it, I think, but it was awesome, of course, and here is one of many instances of simple fun on that trip. Instead of giving us wristbands or hand-stamps or any of that usual way of showing that someone’s paid for something, they gave us temporary tattoos. And not from AVS, either. This tattoo was for ATLX (Atlanta Lindy Exchange) 2009, and said “Dance Nerdy With Me/ATLX 2009.” Here is a blown-up picture of my drawing of the tattoo on our arms:
So, yeah, besides having nerds on biceps, obviously the point of this whole story is that I have no upper arm muscles worth speaking of. I need to make a character page or something, but I believe this is the debut of Nicole and Stephen in my comics! Nicole is the girl in the shorts, and Stephen is the boy with the arms, and if you’ve never been here before, I’m the girl with the cylinders for arms.
I’m still looking into making this thing into a regular comics website, so if you have any tips, let me know! I’m asking my friend, Anna, if she can help, too, since she’s all tech-savvy and whatnot. She’s a very awesome friend of mine, but unfortunately, we haven’t seen each other in quite a while now, so maybe this can help keep us in contact a little more…?
Also, by somewhat popular demand, I may be bringing Max Larson of the 21st Century and Future Hatfield Man to the comics pages, so I hope people will like them! They’re just completely ridiculous.
